Industrial companies in the Lake Constance region are strongly networked globally with partner companies. Therefore, they are increasingly confronted with international standards and guidelines for the specification and verification of components – a challenge for companies and training providers. Existing principles, procedures and interpretations for the design, manufacture and metrology of components are partly outdated – training has deficits. How can modern, motivating lifelong learning for “geometric product specification and verification” be made possible – from vocational training via universities to further education for employees? The project is creating a training concept for this purpose: a mix of conventional learning methods, self-directed “on-demand learning forms” and knowledge development in practice. The concept also makes use of new technologies such as an online learning platform for knowledge acquisition via mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets. The aim is to strengthen skilled workers in the Lake Constance region and ultimately to increase the competitiveness of the local industry compared to other regions.
